The first edition of Comix castles, Comics, Cosplay, Boardgames and Videogames festival, ended successfully. The event, organized by San Giuseppe Art School in collaboration with #ARTISTICIsBETTER and ODEA – Officina delle Espressioni Artistiche, took place on 8 and 9 July in the fascinating setting of the Aldobrandini stables Of Frascati.
Hundreds of participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the universe of entertainment. Guests had the opportunity to visit a thematic market, participate in oriental language and game design workshops, observe the fantasy works designed at the fair by the students of the San Giuseppe Art School, expertly coordinated by the teacher Claudia Sangiovanni, and much more.
The strong point of the event was undoubtedly the presence of special guests: Licia Troisi, famous fantasy writer who shared with the public her beginnings in the field of literature and her link with science, and cartoonists and illustrators Lorenzo De Felici, Gigi Cavenago and Andrea De Dominicis, who participated in a very detailed round table on the world of comics.
The realities that have contributed to the organization of the numerous activities, including the Castelli Romani System and the Libraries, the Ludica Romana Association, 8bitinside, Castelli in Gioco and SIDP Hagakure, have played a fundamental role in the success of the event.
To further enhance the two days, the presence of the international artists of ODEA, whose works were exhibited on both days: from the evocative abstract paintings of Matilde Lemaire to the evocative power of Francesca De Angelis, from the visceral colors of Sarah Andreozzi to the works in wood by Anna Wood, and many more.
Although it was its first edition, the Castelli Comix festival achieved a wide participation, encountering an evident enthusiasm. The organizers are already working on next year’s edition, with the aim of offering even more content and reaching an even wider audience.
Dr. Elettra Casali, Headmaster of the San Giuseppe Artistic High School in Grottaferrata commented as follows: “I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have contributed to the success of Castelli Comix. I thank the Municipality of Frascati, especially the Mayor, Dr. Francesca Sbardella, Davide Coni and the entire ODEA staff. Their work and dedication have been essential in organizing this festival. They put all their enthusiasm and professionalism into the set up and we are grateful for that. A special thanks goes to the writer Licia Troisi and to the cartoonists Lorenzo De Felici, Gigi Cavenago and Andrea De Dominicis. Their participation enriched the festival, offering guests the opportunity to meet prominent professionals in the world of comics and literature. Finally, my warmest thanks go to the public who attended the event. The enthusiasm and passion of the visitors made this festival a minor success. We therefore hope to be able to do even better in the next edition!”.
