Luis Suarez reportedly willing to do any conditions including returning all salaries to Gremio in order to appear together Lionel Messi of Inter Miami.
Mundodeportivo reports that Suarez has been dropped from the Gremio squad by coach Renato Gaucho, even though he started joining the training session last Friday.
The day before, Gaucho had said that the former Liverpool and Barcelona player would only play if he still had his focus on Porto Alegre.
It is claimed that the coach is fed up with the drama that Suarez is doing. The Uruguayan player is reportedly trying to revise his contract at Gremio in favor of a move to Inter Miami.
Suarez is known to have signed a contract at Gremio until 2024. However, the 36-year-old striker intends to end his contract at Gremio sooner to join Inter Miami.
“Regardless of the injury he has, he has to focus here because he knows how important he is for the team,” said Renato Gaucho who described Suarez’s situation as a “problem” akin to a “Mexican soap opera”.
“In every press conference I have to talk about Suarez. This is a matter that is in the hands of the club president. Everything that comes out (in the media) is still true, but only the board of directors can decide,” said Gaucho.
Brazilian media claim Suarez wants to leave Gremio immediately to join Inter Miami. The MLS club previously had success in bringing in Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Suarez is reportedly willing to do everything in order to play together with three new Inter Miami players who worked together with him at Barcelona.
Suarez is even said to be willing to return all the salaries received since he first joined Gremio last January. He was even willing to pay an additional amount of money to terminate his contract.
Gremio himself has just returned to the top division of the Brazilian League and is currently climbing to third place in the standings. The club also qualified for the semifinals of the Brasil Cup where they will face Flamengo.
Therefore, the presence of Suarez at this time is very much needed by Gremio. The injury he experienced is recovering, but the player intends to defect to reunite with Messi.
