Sidy Cissoko Signs Multi-Year Contract with San Antonio Spurs: French Players Dominate the 2023 Draft

As we announced on Thursday, there will be two French people at Spurs next season in Gregg Popovich’s squad. Selected by San Antonio with the 44th pick of the 2023 draft, Sidy Cissoko has officially signed a guaranteed multi-year contract with the Texas franchise.

If the terms of the contract are not officially known, according to the official Spurs press release, journalists and NBA “insiders” evoke a three-year contract.

The French in the 2023 draft all have a guaranteed contract

Unlike the top 30 in the draft, a second-round selection does not offer a guaranteed contract. It was therefore not won for Sidy Cissoko who had taken over the management of the G-League last summer after four seasons in the training center of Vitoria, Spain (the leader-back was running at 11.6 points, 2 .9 rebounds and 3.3 assists). The four French people selected from the 2023 vintage of the draft now all have a guaranteed lease: Victor Wembanyama (1st choice, San Antonio), Bilal Coulibaly (7th choice, Washington), Rayan Rupert (43rd choice, Portland) and now Cissoko.
