Salzburg’s judo ace Lisa Dengg secured the bronze medal at the European Student Championships. At the weekend, the Pongauer won her second international medal within four weeks.

Lisa Dengg had every reason to be happy at the European University Championships (EUC). After gold in Slovenia four weeks ago, the 24-year-old from Salzburg also won a medal in Zagreb and took bronze in the -48 kilogram class.

After two victories against Larissa Greis from Germany and the Portuguese Carolina Rodrigues, the woman from Mühlbach (Pongau) had to admit defeat in the semi-finals to the eventual winner Coralie Gilly from France. The great revenge Dengg then set in the duel bronze and did not give Gilly compatriot Ella Olivier a chance.

“It was annoying that I lost the fight in the semifinals. In the end, of course, the joy outweighs it,” said Dengg in the S24 interview. After a short training camp in August, the judo ace is due for the Grand Prix in Zagreb. “It won’t be easy. Then I have to think from fight to fight.”
