SAKURA FUNABASHI: The Journey of a Rising 3×3 Basketball Team

Operated by Shinagawa Shokai Co., Ltd. at 3×3 JAPAN TOUR 2023 EXTREME Round.5 sponsored by JBA (Japan Basketball Association)3×3 Pro Team[SAKURA FUNABASHI](WOMEN) participated. Aiming for victory at Komazawa Park, carrying Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture.

Due to the large number of applicants, it is necessary to win a lottery in order to participate.

The men’s team applied six times and only qualified once.

The women’s team has applied six times, and this is the second time they have qualified.

This is the first appearance since Round 1, which was played on April 8th.

It is said to be a lottery, but the strong team is participating for the third time this time.

SAKURA FUNABASHI is a team with a short history compared to other teams. Not a strong team.

Although we are talking about the 2021 season, only SAKURA FUNABASHI was rejected out of 13 teams that applied. Is this really a lottery?

Since the number of participating teams is limited, I don’t think they will let me participate every time, but if the Japan Basketball Association is running it, I would like the lottery to be done properly.

If there is a system in which strong teams can participate preferentially, please describe it in the requirements.

SAKURA FUNABASHI is a professional team that was launched to boost the 3×3, which is a minor event. I also want to give children a dream, and I want to boost the industry so that they can think, “I want to be a professional 3×3 player in the future!”

Because I have such a feeling, my thoughts on participating in this time are bigger than other teams.

The men’s team is currently in 23rd place at the end of Round 4 out of 25 teams.

The SAKURA FUNABASHI men’s team is confirmed to be at the bottom as the 24th and 25th place teams have qualified for Round 5.6.

The women’s team is currently in 10th place at the end of Round 4 out of 17 teams.

He finished 3rd in the only Round 1 he participated in, so depending on this result, he can still aim for the playoffs.

The men’s team is aiming to participate in the next Round. In addition, since it is not confirmed that they will participate, there are cases where they have to cancel even if they secure air tickets and hotels.

Although the history is short and we have received sponsor support from many companies, team management is quite difficult when the expedition increases.

And for the companies that support us, we would like to participate in games in the Kanto region where travel expenses are as low as possible.

Launched in 2022, the 2023 season will be the second year as a team, but this season a women’s team has also been established.

From Funabashi to the world.

Regional revitalization with 3×3.

become a dream for children.

With three visions, SAKURA FUNABASHI will become a global sports club from Funabashi, and many people who see it will gain confidence and realize their dreams. SAKURA FUNABASHI is seriously aiming to create such a circulation. In the sports industry, SAKURA FUNABASHI, which has great potential to develop businesses in various business categories and industries based on sports, is going to capture the world with sports x business.
