Running back Ezekiel Elliot will visit the New England Patriots on Saturday, according to ESPN.
The 28-year-old is looking for a new contract after being released by the Dallas Cowboys on March 15. Pats head coach Bill Belichick spoke to Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones to get an assessment of the running back as ESPN’s Ed Werder learned.
Elliott recorded just 876 yards last season, his career-low total. He finished the season with 12 touchdowns.
The Patriots are certainly looking for other running backs to support Rhamondre Stevenson. James Robinson was released in June and Ty Montgomery injured himself in practice.
Last week, the Pats also evaluated Leonard Fournette and Darrell Henderson.
