Rugby: Mohamed Haouas joins Biarritz after a financial agreement with Clermont

While he does not yet know how he will be able to adjust his sentence or if he will go through prison, Mohamed Haouas has apparently settled his professional future. The 29-year-old international pillar (16 caps) will evolve in Biarritz (Pro D2) for the next two seasons, as reported by the newspaper South Westinformation confirmed by The team.

Sentenced to one year in prison at the end of May for domestic violence, but also to 18 months suspended in February 2022 for acts of burglary of tobacco shops dating back to 2014, and this Friday morning to 18 months, including nine closed, for violence aggravated during the New Year 2014 (he appealed), the former Montpellier resident therefore found a new club without wasting time. Thursday evening, he had accepted a financial agreement, according to L’Equipe, with Clermont, who sought to break the three-year contract signed before his conviction for domestic violence and effective from this Saturday, July 1. And this Friday, he signed up with Biarritz, a club in full upheaval.

While the sale of the Basque club to investors from Limoges has apparently flipped over, Biarritz president Jean-Baptiste Aldigé, who was originally to join SU Agen, has taken over the reins of the BO in recent days and he is not remained inactive. He would have already hung on his hunting board the English international center Jonathan Joseph, the Welsh international scrum-half Rhys Webb, and therefore Mohamed Haouas.
