Rostock Seawolves Sign Point Guard Mike Smith as Replacement for JeQuan Lewis

Third new signing for Rostock Seawolves, the first division basketball team: Point guard Mike Smith (25, 1.80 meters) comes as a replacement for JeQuan Lewis and receives a one-year contract.

The Ami (born in Chicago) played his first stop in Europe in Bydgoszcz (Poland) last season, where he averaged 16.1 points and 4.3 assists.

Oldenburg holt Roijakkers

Meanwhile, league competitor EWE Baskets Oldenburg introduced a new assistant coach. Thomas Roijakkers (44) is the future assistant coach to head coach Pedro Calles (39). Roijakkers succeeds Bryce Taylor.

Roijakkers on his new job: “I’m looking forward to the great Oldenburg fans and to appearing in both the BBL and the Basketball Champions League.”

Calles on his new colleague on the coaching staff: “His knowledge and work ethic make him a person I would like to have on our coaching staff.”

The Dutchman Roijakkers has worked as a head or assistant coach in Taiwan, Belgium and Austria. He is the older brother of Johann Roijakkers, who played for Göttingen and Bamberg in the Bundesliga.
