Can Bozdogan made an impression at FC Utrecht last season. The 22-year-old midfielder from Germany set the pace, made dirty meters and was constantly threatening. Defender Mark van der Maarel is full of praise for the former German youth international.
“It is a nice player. A special one,” says Van der Maarel Football International. “He has all the qualities and is convinced of himself. He is doing well, but at the same time still has to take some steps. Look how young he is! He has bravado in his game. Yes, that sometimes goes wrong, but you have to factor that in. It’s about the right balance. We all work hard on that. “
Van der Maarel regularly talks to Bozdogan. “I sometimes whisper to him. One thing is certain and that is that Can is convinced of his own abilities. Generation Z, right? Don’t get me wrong, he lives for his profession. He is a real professional.”
“He has a mission and that includes a certain conviction. He knows exactly how it all works. That’s fine, because he delivers. I think it’s special. That boy has a huge future ahead of him,” says Van der Maarel.
