Remembering Ippei Kuri: Co-founder of Tatsunoko Production Passes Away at 83

Tatsunoko Production revealed Thursday that Ippei Kuri (real name Toyoharu Yoshida), former CEO and co-founder of Tatsunoko Production along with his brothers Tatsuo Yoshida and Kenji Yoshida, passed away on July 1 at the age of 83.

Kuri was born on January 1, 1940 in Kyoto and was the co-founder of Tatsunoko Production in 1962, being the youngest of 3 brothers.

Kuri was a designer on anime such as Judo Boy, Gatchaman The Movie, Space Ace, Toshi Gordian, and Robotech II: The Sentinels; as well as director in Judo Boy, Speed ​​Racer and Decision. He also had a producing role on Gatchaman, Samurai Pizza Cats, and Tekkaman Blade II, among others.
