Rediscovering Isidore Odorico: The Mosaic Master of Angers

Known and recognized for his colorful mosaics, Isidore Odorico marked the city with his creations: the Blue House, the Hotel d’Anjou… The RU-Repaire Urbain presents an exhibition around this art-deco artist and highlights the creations of the mosaicist, in private and public buildings.

The free exhibition is visible from Tuesday to Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., with the possibility of visiting with a mediator (without reservation). This week, it will be exceptionally open from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday 19, on the occasion of the third evening-concert of Tempo Rives (see below), as will all the exhibitions of the Repaire Urbain.

A guided tour around the works of Odorico is also offered by Angers Patrimoine on Thursday 20 July. And to go further in the discovery of mosaics, the Repaire Urbain offers a workshop on the mosaic technique for adults on July 18 as well as a “game of tesserae” workshop for children on July 19.

On the agenda for the week

Tempo Rives. There will be jazz this week at Tempo Rives. On Wednesday July 19, the stage of the Beaux-Arts garden will welcome Laurent Bardainne and Tigre d’eau douce with his tenor saxophone notes with accents of free jazz and groove. Thursday, July 20, Kutu will play jazz mixed with hip hop and music from Ethiopia. In the first parts, the Angevin public will find the opportunity to discover singers with singular universes: Edda Bel Abysse and her French songs on a background of electronic beats on Wednesdays and the luminous Afro-pop of Kolina on Thursdays.

All TempoRives programming

Bonus Food’Angers. Start your day with a sun salutation in the gardens of Villa French Tech on the occasion of a Food’Angers bonus. This yoga session followed by breakfast will allow you to start your day in the best possible conditions.

To discover on the territory

The motte castle of Verrières-en-Anjou organizes “Les P’tits loups en fête”, two afternoons of poetry, music and surprises for 3-12 year olds. Theatre, music, and even a party await families, not to mention archery and various activities in the garden.
