2023-07-25

Real Madrid has announced the departure of midfielder Antonio Blanco, who is going to Deportivo Alavés on a transfer until 2027. The Whites retain part of their rights.

Carlo Ancelotti did not count on him, since the midfield zone of the white team is heavily covered with the arrival of Bellingham and Brahim Díaz.

-STATEMENT FROM REAL MADRID-

“Real Madrid CF and Deportivo Alavés have agreed on the transfer of the player Antonio Blanco. Antonio Blanco came to our academy in 2013 at just 13 years old and has been part of Castilla for three seasons.

In 2020 he was proclaimed champion of the Youth League with our Juvenil A. Antonio Blanco made his debut with the first team in the 2020-2021 season, and participated in the Champions League and in the League that Real Madrid won in the 2021-2022 season.

He is international with the Spanish team and was proclaimed champion of the European under-17 in 2017 and champion of the European under-19 in 2019.

Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude and affection for Antonio Blanco and wishes him and all his family the best of luck in this new stage”.

Antonio Blanco does not move from Vitoria. The sports director of Alavés, Sergio Fernández, advanced yesterday that they were trying to keep him at the club, like Villalibre, and they have succeeded.

The transfer formula has not been detailed, but Madrid usually keeps 50 percent of the rights. In this way, Blanco is the sixth casualty of the white team.

He joins Karim Benzema (Al Ittihad), Marco Asensio (PSG), Mariano Díaz (without a team), Eden Hazard (without a team) and Jesús Vallejo (Granada).
