Racing Genk Signs “Indisputable Talent” Christopher Bonsu Baah

Racing Genk brings in “indisputable talent”.

Will Racing Genk live up to its name of talent factory again? With Cristopher Bonsu Baah (18), the Limburgers have already secured a diamond in the rough. The Ghanaian attacker comes over from the Norwegian Sarpsborg. “An indisputable talent”, assures Head Of Football Dimitri de Condé.

Bonsu Baah started his football career with Shooting Stars FC in his home country. There he played himself in the spotlight of Sarpsborg 08 FF, which plays in the Norwegian first division. Despite his young age, he immediately showed his skills and quickly transformed into a basic pawn. Bonsu Baah is a left-footed right winger, but can also play as an attacking midfielder.

In 3 months time he appeared 12 times at the kick-off in the Norwegian highest football class, he found the way to goal once and also gave one assist. Even more impressive, during his short stay in Norway, he produced the highest number of successful dribbles (57) and created the most chances (10) in the league.

His 59th place on the Golden Boy Award – a list of the best football players under 21 on European fields – fluoresces his talent. His gigantic potential did not go unnoticed. Bonsu Baah featured on many a scouting list and even enjoyed concrete interest from the Premier League. In the end it was KRC Genk that was able to convince the young winger of the project that the club has drawn up with him.

“As a flank attacker, he is a real dribbler who, in combination with his speed, is only too happy to face a one-on-one confrontation with a defender. His physical parameters are also unseen for his age,” explains Dimitri de Condé.

“Christopher’s qualities fit perfectly into our club’s vision of football. We are absolutely thrilled that we were able to convince him of our project and can’t wait to get started with him. At KRC Genk he finds himself in the ideal environment to take the next steps in his career before he makes the transition to the European top”, it sounds satisfied.

Bonsu Baah, who opted for shirt number 90, is also happy with his choice: “I have known the club for some time. When I was little, I played on FIFA with KRC Genk because of players like De Bruyne & Courtois. When I heard about KRC Genk’s interest, I didn’t hesitate for a second, despite interest from other teams. Being part of the club myself now feels like the right choice at the right time. I can’t wait to develop further,” he says proudly.
