CANCÚN, Q. ROO.- This weekend, Quintana Roo won two gold medals and a couple more bronze medals in the disciplines of judo and taekwondo, within the CONADE National Games, which are held in Villahermosa, Tabasco.
In judo, Naomi Carrazco and Ariadna Chávez took first place in their categories, while Darla Saavedra Caamal took third place in her division. The fights were held in Nave Uno, Parque Tabasco, headquarters of the competition.
Carrazco won the gold in the category 13-14 years of the -48 kilograms. The native of Tulum faced Saavedra Caamal in the Semifinals, to win her pass to the fight for gold. While the native of Benito Juárez was left with the bronze.
In the Final, Naomi Carrazco defeated Ámbar López from Jalisco, to be crowned national champion. While in the -64 kilograms division, Ariadna Chávez won the gold medal.
While the Tabasco 2000 Convention Center was the headquarters of the actions in taekwondo. Where Oliver Flores added a bronze in the -51 kilograms division. The Cancunense advanced to the first round after beating his opponent from Chihuahua.
In the elimination stage, the man from Quintana Roo faced Jesús Corona de Tabasco and was able to enter the fight for the medals. Accompanied by Professor Lezmar Fierro, the taekwondoin stayed in the Semifinals, after losing to a rival from Michoacán, but secured third place on the podium.
This is the second time that Oliver Flores has won a medal at the CONADE National Games. In the 2019 edition, the Cancunense hung the silver medal.
Judo competitions will end on July 3 and taekwondo will conclude on July 4.
