Quebec Outfielder Pier-Olivier Boucher Selected by Atlanta Braves in 2023 Draft

Outfielder Pier-Olivier Boucher was the first Quebec player selected by a major baseball team in the 2023 draft. He was selected in the 10th round, the 309th overall pick, by the Atlanta Braves.

Last season, the man who was chosen by the Cactus de Victoriaville in the 2021 Quebec Major League Baseball Draft defended the colors of the Southern Illinois University Salukis. He maintained a .335 batting average. He notably hit 16 long balls and stole 19 bases.

The Cactus had selected him 12th overall. He was not playing in Quebec at the time. He has never donned the uniform of the Victorian formation. The 23-year-old outfielder continues his development in the United States in hopes of a career in professional baseball.
