The Organic Plenary of Punta Umbria Town Hall has set that the last Wednesday of the odd months continues to be the date for holding the ordinary sessions, which will now go to the afternoon schedule “As we have been demanding for many years, so that citizens can participate more and councilors have an easier time attending”, as announced by the mayor, Jose Carlos Hernandezwhich has assessed that this government team begins “by dignifying the opposition, freeing the spokespersons and giving assignments to the councilors for attending plenary session.”

However, the municipal councilor has stated that he is convinced “of the public service of the opposition in the form of co-government, accepting that we do not have an absolute majority and also with an offer to improve the headquarters of each municipal group.”

In plenary session, the appointment of the delegations, the deputy mayors members of the Local Government Board and the municipal groups and their spokespersons have been noted. Regarding this last matter, it was decided that the spokesperson for the group United for Punta Umbría be José Antonio González. For the popular municipal group, Rosa María Crespo; for the municipal socialist group, Manuela Pomares, and for Izquierda Unida, Víctor Víctor Manuel Ruiz.
On the other hand, the Local Government Board will be made up of five deputy mayors who are, in this order, José Antonio González López, José Antonio Flores Belmonte, Cinta López Limón, Enrique Orta Fernández and Sebastián Pomares González.

Regarding salaries, José Carlos Hernández Cansino stressed that he will receive “up to 8,000 euros less than the previous mayoress”, who received her salary from the Huelva Provincial Council, “which all taxpayers in the province also pay”. All the councilors of the Government team will receive the same allocation, “none of them greater than that of the previous team”. This point has been approved with the eight votes of United for Punta Umbría, Izquierda Unida and PSOE have voted against, as well as the PP has abstained. In addition, PSOE and Izquierda Unida have expressed their intention to give up 15 percent of their allocation, consistent with their requests for austerity.

The fixing and remuneration of temporary personnel has gone ahead with the votes in favor of the entire Corporation, with the exception of the abstention of the socialist group. In this case there will be three advisers, one of them unpaid and attached to the Cleaning area. The other two, to Mayor-Presidency and El Portil / Festejos. Among all “add less than the previous team.”

In another order of affairs, the Plenary has unanimously approved the appointment of municipal representatives in the supra-municipal bodies of a collegiate nature, to which has been added representation in the FEMP and in the FAMP, the Andalusian and Spanish Federations of Municipalities and Provinces. It has been decided that the mayor is the one who presides over them and that their members are the councilors of the matters most appropriate to each body. In some cases, a technician will do the same, as happens in Guadiodiel.

In the same way, the creation and composition of the permanent Information Commissions has been unanimously approved. And they have added the Contracting Board, which will be held every fortnight.
