Will the NBA be growing soon?
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver (61) spoke in Las Vegas about expanding the NBA. He confirmed that there are plans to admit new teams to the league in the coming years.
Silver also made it clear that the NBA will not rush into anything and that the focus right now is on a new media deal. The current contract expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.

“We will focus on expansion once the new media deals are signed,” Silver said at the APSE conference. “Nothing is certain yet, but as I’ve said before, it’s normal for organizations to grow over time.”
Two cities that are potential new NBA locations are Las Vegas and Seattle. The Supersonics played in the NBA in Seattle from 1967 to 2008, but after a dispute about building their own arena they moved to Oklahoma. The team has been known as the Oklahoma City Thunder since 2008. Is there an NBA comeback in town now?
“There is no doubt that there is tremendous interest in Seattle. It’s no secret,” said NBA boss Silver.
