Paris has still not made the signing of TJ Shorts (25) official. But it’s only a matter of time before last season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga is presented in the French capital.

SPORT BILD wrote “Bonn is falling apart”. Because NONE of the players who made it into the final series of the BBL (1:3 against Ulm) in June have a contract for the new season. But the Telekom baskets don’t actually fall apart, they just move. 500 kilometers further, to Paris. A player change in five pack.

The club there was only founded in 2018 and was promoted to the first French league in 2021. With a lot of money, the bosses want to get to the top of national basketball and the Euroleague.

President David Kahn has an NBA past, first working for the Indiana Pacers and then becoming general manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

And how do the people of Bonn react to the somewhat unimaginative personnel policy of the Parisians? Relaxed! Wolfgang Wiedlich, President and Managing Director of Telekom Baskets Bonn on SPORT BILD: “We are no longer dealing with it. We expect six players and four coaches to move from Bonn to Paris. We’ve known that since the end of May. In this respect we have been doing the obvious since then and are concentrating on our next season.”

The almost team-wide transfer is “completely legal,” said Wiedlich.
