Pacers Pursue Pascal Siakam in NBA Trade Rumors

Toronto Raptors’ Pascal Siakam continues to be considered a hot trade candidate. The forward is also said to be ensnared by the Indiana Pacers.

Here you will find news and rumors from the NBA.

NBA Rumors: Pacers Chase Siakam

For months there have been rumors about a possible trade by Raptors star Pascal Siakam, whose contract expires next summer. The Cameroonian’s absence during the Summer League was a further sign for Michael Grange (Sportsnet) that a farewell may be near.

According to Marc Stein (Substack), not only are the Atlanta Hawks interested in the forward, the Indiana Pacers are said to have started the hunt for the two-time All-Star. Stein writes that Raptors Scottie Barnes (21) and OG Anunoby (25) want more responsibility and that Siakam (29) as well as Houston expat Fred VanVleeet (29) got in the way, or in Siakam’s case, still does stand.

At the same time, Siakam could also extend early in Toronto, but there have been no talks between Siakam and the Raptors. The forward played 71 games last year, averaging 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists with odds of 48 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from the line of three.

NBA Rumors: First Round Pick for Tyler Herro?

According to Blazers GM Joe Cronin, a Lillard trade “could take months,” and that’s how long Tyler Herro will have to hold out. The heat guard is considered a safe trade candidate should Lillard move to Miami – and according to Shams Charania (The Athletic), interest in the 23-year-old is great.

“I think there are several teams that would get at least a first round pick for Herro,” Charania mused on The Pat McAfee Show. “There’s a belief within the NBA that Portland can end up getting three or four first-round picks for Lillard.” Miami itself can only trade two picks, over Herro it could be more.

NBA: Detroit Pistons extend contract with Isaiah Stewart

According to Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN), the Pistons have extended their contract early with Big Man Isaiah Stewart. The 22-year-old will be signed to a new four-year, $64 million deal starting in 2024.

Stewart is the first player in the 2020 draft class to reach an agreement with his team without receiving a maximum contract. Anthony Edwards (Wolves), LaMelo Ball (Hornets), Tyrese Haliburton (Pacers) and Desmond Bane (Grizzlies) had all previously maxed out.

Stewart played the best season of his career last year, averaging 11.3 points and 8.1 rebounds.
