Last year Jan Hercog showed that he was ninth at the Olympic 10 km distance at the World Championships, but the open water swimmer does not necessarily expect to finish in the top ten in the next few days at the World Championships in Fukuoka. A change of training location this year does not seem to have been fully processed in terms of performance. Instead, the 25-year-old is already focusing on 2024.
