Inigo Martinez has been officially announced as a new Barcelona player. The 32-year-old defender immediately boasted Blaugrana better than Real Madrid!
Martinez was brought in by Barcelona from Athletic Bilbao for free in the summer of 2023. He has a two-year contract and is covered by a 400 million euro clause by The cules.
Barcelona introduced Martinez officially at Ciutat Esportiva on Thursday (13/7/2023). He signed his contract with Joan Laporta as club president.
Inigo Martinez is very happy to be joining Barcelona. The Real Sociedad graduate hopes to give the best for his new club.
“It’s great that they have spoken very well since my arrival, the treatment towards me has been amazing. Since my first contact with them it has been great,” Martinez said, quoted from Brand.
“I have met colleagues and and see what they are like. I am very happy to be part of this big family,” he added.
“I want to highlight the competitive character that I have. I think I can help the team a lot in that. I’m here to work like the best and help win titles.”
Not only that, Martinez also gave his opinion regarding next season’s competition. He without hesitation said that Barcelona is currently better than its arch rival, Real Madrid.
“That goes without saying, huh. The club proved that last year, why not this year?” said Inigo Martinez, referring to Barcelona’s success in winning the Spanish League last season.
