The club from the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga has come up with something very special for the presentation of its new center Isaiah Whaley (25): a short Tinder-style video.

“LeBron, 38” is suggested as the first candidate in the little film, along with a photo of Lakers star LeBron James. He is swiped to the left. In the flirt app on the cell phone, this means “rejection”.
And the next candidate also gets a swipe to the left: “Michael, 60”, which is of course Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time.
Only the third candidate is swiped to the right. This is “Isaiah, 25”. A player that many basketball fans may not have recognized at first glance.

If the Academics have their way, that should change in the course of the coming season.
Because the BBL twelfth of the past season thinks highly of the Ami, with whom there was of course a “match” in the introduction video. Will this also be the beginning of a long love affair?

Heidelberg’s sporting director Alex Vogel: “We’ve been working on Isaiah for a long time. He is a very fast center with good athletics. Isaiah plays on the field with lots of emotion and great energy. He will also carry our fans with him.”
Whaley was born in the US state of North Carolina and after high school opted for an offer from the elite university UConn. Played for the Huskies for a total of five years, for whom players like Niels Giffey (32/Bayern) or NBA legend Ray Allen (48) had played before him.
Last season, Whaley played for the Guadalajara-based Astros de Jalisco, with whom he won the Mexican title. There he averaged 18 points and 9.3 rebounds per game and was voted the most valuable player in the league (MVP).
And yet he left the old love. And is now getting involved in a new relationship in the BBL.
