Mexico and the Kukulcán Álamo Park in Mérida, Yucatán, are preparing to host the exciting first edition of the Baseball Champions League.

This innovative tournament, backed by the WBSC, will take place on Yucatecan lands from September 28 to October 1. In its debut, it will have the participation of four teams representing the American continent.

The Alazanes de Granma, the Caimanes de Barranquilla, the Fargo Moorhead Redhawks and the Leones de Yucatán, who earned the right to represent Mexico by winning the Mexican Baseball League title, will face off in an epic battle for glory.

“We are happy for the first worldwide edition of the Baseball Champions League, a league that will have the champions of Cuba, Colombia, the United States and Mexico. Next year we will go from 4 teams to six or eight and it will be jointly from the European and Asian editions”, shared Horacio de la Vega, executive president of the Mexican Baseball League.

In addition, the LMB executive announced that Mexico will also have the honor of organizing the 2024 edition, where the host city will depend on the winner of the Serie del Rey. It will be a unique opportunity for the country to demonstrate its passion and excellence in baseball at the international level.
