Mexicali burns this Saturday with temperatures of 50.2 degrees – El Sol de México

This Saturday, July 15, the state capital registered high temperatures of up to 50.2 degrees, as indicated by the Mexicali Municipal Civil Protection Unit, while the local thermometer marked a temperature of 56 degrees Celsius.

However, Conagua officially forecasts the temperature of 50.2 degrees Celsius tomorrow.

Likewise, municipal Civil Protection had warned that the United States meteorological system expected the entry of said temperatures into the system as of last Tuesday, July 11 in the region.

HYDRATION HOUSES, THE ALTERNATIVE

Adrián Medina Amarillas, Baja California’s Secretary of Health, reported that this year has seen some of the highest temperatures in the city’s history, which has put both migrants and homeless people in a double situation of vulnerability.

“Unfortunately we have people living on the streets who are permanently exposed to high temperatures and without adequate coverage,” he said.

To alleviate this situation, the unit he heads installed hydration houses throughout the suburban area of Mexicali and other surrounding regions, such as El Valle and the port of San Felipe.

At these points, the authorities provide people with information on how they can stay hydrated or where they can go for shelter, and they are taught to prepare an IV to avoid dehydration. Note published by La Voz de la Frontera
