Medvedev stops Eubanks sensational run

Christopher Eubanks was the final stop at the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon on Wednesday. The sensational man, who competed in the classic lawn for the first time, failed in the quarter-finals against Russian Daniil Medvedev after a hard fight 4:6 6:1 6:4 6:7 (4/7) 1:6.

After losing the first set, Eubanks showed why he made it into the last eight players. The 27-year-old American impressed with his shots and took the lead in the set. Medvedev was battered but fought his way back into the game and won the fourth set in the tie-break. After that, Eubanks had shot his powder and after three hours left the pitch as a loser to the ovation of the audience.

“I haven’t won many five-set matches, even two here. I’m very happy to be in the semifinals. After the first set I didn’t want five sets, when I lost the third I definitely wanted five sets. There were moments when I completely lost my game. He turned it up, I fell off. In the third set I managed to slowly build myself up again. In the fourth I was in good form again,” explained Medvedev.
