Liverpool are rumored to be interested in borrowing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp also responded to that.
Mbappe is in a transfer saga this summer. His refusal to extend his contract, which expires in 2024, leaves PSG with no choice but to put him on the sale list this year as well.
The 24-year-old striker is believed to be preparing his way to Real Madrid, but PSG don’t want to lose him for nothing. It was reported that Al Hilal was ready to pay 300 million Euros, but Mbappe rejected the offer to Saudi Arabia.
Several reports have appeared. Madrid is said to be working on a transfer this summer, while there are also rumors Liverpool are interested in a loan.
PSG is basically trying in any way to minimize losses. Loans could be a last resort, with at least they can get a little pay while free from the burden of Mbappe’s wages.
Liverpool’s rumors of interest in Mbappe have also reached the ears of the manager, Juergen Klopp. Klopp openly called it unrealistic considering the club’s financial situation.
“We laugh at the rumours. I can say, I think he is a very good player, but his financial situation doesn’t support us at all,” he told Sky Germany quoted Metro.
“I don’t want to spoil the rumor actually, but as far as I know, nothing. But yeah maybe someone else at the club has prepared something and wants to surprise me.”
“But it has never happened in the eight years I have been here. It will be the first time it has happened,” added Klopp.
