Maximiliano Olivera sealed his bond and will be the first confirmed signing of Peñarol

The left winger and defender Maximiliano Olivera is the first addition to Peñarol for the second semester of competition after sealing his signature this Thursday in the contract that marks the return to the Mirasol institution.

Olivera will join the club for two years, concluding one of the bets that the institution had, thinking of going after the Uruguayan and reinforcing its final line. He will be officially presented in the next few hours.

The player trained in Wanderers parted ways with Mexican Juárez days ago after agreeing to terminate a relationship with a year remaining and that had begun in June 2021.

The 31-year-old left-handed Uruguayan defender had previously been released from Fiorentina and turned to Aztec soccer. Before he went through Olimpia de Asunción, on loan, and always flirted with the possibility of returning to Peñarol.

Olivera played 33 games in the last season of Mexican soccer (all as a starter) and scored two goals. In the previous one he had registered 29 appearances, so he accumulates filming.

In the coalmen he performed in the 2015/16 season, when he was crowned champion scoring against Plaza Colonia in the final. Dressed in aurinegro, he played 15 games for the Uruguayan Championship and seven for international cups, becoming captain.
