Back in her country, the Czech Republic, after winning her very first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon, Marketa Vondrousova admitted at a press conference in Prague that the media circus was not really her forte and that she was going to try to avoid him as much as possible.
“I’ll have to get back to training, but I’ll try to escape the media coverage as much as possible. I will just try to stick to my circle of relatives and not disperse myself. The last few days have been quite difficult, it was a real ride. Regarding the motivation of my future opponents, I think it’s a good problem. Everyone will try to show their best against me. I won a Grand Slam title, but I have to take it into account and learn to live with it. »
