Another star of Grande Inter has died. At 88 he passed away Luisito Suarezbrilliant director of the team of Helenio Herrera, bought by Barcelona and then sold to Sampdoria at the end of his career. The Galician, born in La Coruña in 1935, arrived in Milan in 1961 for the record sum of 311 million lire, according to the chronicles of the time, after winning the Ballon d’Or in Catalonia. He has won the Spanish Cup twice and as many Spanish championships, three Italian championships, the Fairs Cup twice, the Champions Cup twice and the Intercontinental two times. With the Spanish national team he was the driving force behind the victory of the 1964 European Championship. He ended his career as a player at Sampdoria in 1973, then becoming a coach: he led from the bench among the other Inters (for three periods, in 1974/75 then in 1992 and in 1995), Cagliari, Spal, Como and the Spanish national team.
