“Luckily for you, that day is not today”

MADRID, 13 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The American player of the Los Angeles Lakers Lebron James ruled out his retirement, so next year he will add his twenty-first season in the NBA, after explaining that he can still “give everything” on the court, in search of his fifth champion ring.

“The day I can’t give this sport my all on the court is the day I’m done. Lucky for you, that day isn’t today,” James announced in his speech after receiving an ESPY, ESPN’s annual awards to the best of American sports.

Regarding this last year, in which his team lost at the gates of the finals, the Akron team did not consider it “successful”, because at this moment in his career he only plays to “win championships”. “I’m not excited about making the conference finals, I’ve done that many times. It’s not fun for me not being able to be a part of making the finals,” he snapped.

The forward is not sure what is going to be of his career from next season. “We’ll see what happens in the future, I don’t know. To be honest, I have a lot to think about in basketball,” he said.

Lebron repeated that one of the dreams he has yet to fulfill is to share a team with his eldest son, Bronny, who will play next season at the University of Southern California. “I meant it and I still mean it, but obviously, I have to continue to keep my body and mind fresh. I think my mind is the most important thing,” she concluded.
