LPGA Boutier 29th at the US Women’s Open, Lin and Kim in the lead

On the night of Thursday to Friday, the first round of the third major of the year ended on Californian lands. Céline Boutier is 29th at +1 while China’s Xiyu Lin and South Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim take the lead at -4.

This is the first time that the Pebble Beach course has hosted the US Women’s Open. A course that succeeded for Xiyu Lin and Hyo Joo Kim, leaders at -4 at the end of this first day. Both players returned the same card with a total of 5 birdies and a bogey at hole 9.

The Chinese Xiyu Lin, 9th in the world, came close to a clear round without this bogey on her last hole: “I have the impression that my game was not at the top; especially on the first two holes, I had difficulty reaching the green, even from the fairway. But I made some really good starts, which allowed me to take the pressure off and get a good start. Obviously, the bogey on the last hole was a bit unfortunate. I really had the possibility of doing a bogey-free course. But as it is a major course, you will make bogeys. »
