Los Angeles Dodgers Bolster Bullpen with Trade for Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly

The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the NL West with a 58-43 record, but are without starters Clayton Kershaw and Dustin May due to injury. With this in mind, the Californian franchise got to work ahead of the trade deadline for the 2023 Major League Baseball season and decided to bolster its bullpen.

According to the MLB.com report, the Dodgers made a trade with the White Sox to acquire starter Lance Lynn and reliever Joe Kelly. The Dodgers sent prospects Nick Mastrini and Jordan Leasure along with outfielder Trayce Thompson to Chicago to acquire Lynn and Kelly.

Lynn has had a rough year in Chicago as he has won six of his 21 starts and suffered nine losses. Also, his ERA is 6.47 after allowing 86 runs in 119.2 innings. To this day, he was the White Sox pitcher with the most strikeouts with 144.

For his part, Kelly has pitched 29 complete innings in 31 games with a 4.97 ERA after allowing 16 runs. The two-time World Series winner is 1-5 with one save and has struck out 41 of the 128 batters he has faced.

The 32-year-old pitcher has appeared in 45 games, for 44 innings, and has finished 22. He has a 3-4 record and eight saves. Graveman has allowed just 17 runs and struck out 42.
