Leverkusen continues to strengthen, they acquired midfielder Xhaka from Arsenal

Granit Xhaka will play in the 1. Bundesliga again after seven years. The Swiss midfielder transferred from Mönchengladbach to Arsenal in the summer of 2016, and Leverkusen announced his transfer today.

Xhaka is thirty years old and has signed a five-year contract with Bayer, the London club will receive a severance payment of 25 million euros.

Xhaka made a total of 297 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 23 goals and lifting the FA Cup Winners’ Cup twice. He also has 115 starts for the Swiss national team, his place in the cabin should be taken by Declan Rice from West Ham as soon as possible.

Leverkusen is quite active on the market and Xhaka is already their fourth summer signing. Defender Alejandro Grimaldo arrived for free from Benfica, Arthur will fight for a place on the right edge of the defensive line and Jonas Hofmann will be newly engaged on the wing.
