Alex Telles has been officially announced as Al Nassr’s new player. The Brazilian defender will immediately take part in pre-season with his new club in Japan.
According to Transfermarkt records, Telles is contracted for two years until 2025. Journalist Fabrizio Romano says his move from Manchester United is £4 million plus bonuses.
Joining since 2020, Telles was eliminated from the competition for MU’s back line last season and was loaned to Sevilla for one season. Together with the Andalusian club, he won the Europa League. Ironically, he helped get rid of the Red Devils in the quarterfinals.
“We thank Alex for his contribution to the club over three years and wish him every success for the future,” United said in a statement.
During his two seasons with MU, Telles made 50 appearances and scored one goal against Villarreal in the 2021-22 Champions League.
Telles becomes Al Nassr’s third European signing of the summer. Previously, they had recruited Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan and Seko Fofana from Lens. In January, they have signed Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al Nassr seems to have not stopped chasing famous players in Europe. Sadio Mane is said to be in negotiations.
