Krumiņa Dominates in Javelin and Discus at World Para Athletics Championship

Krumiņa, competing in the F55 group, started last and threw the javelin 23.57 meters in the first attempt, which enabled her to secure first place.

In the remaining attempts, she continued to improve her result, reaching 23.99 meters in the second attempt, 24.75 meters in the third, 25.22 meters in the fourth, and the fifth attempt, in which she threw the javelin 25.81 meters, was the most successful.

In the final round, Krumiņa’s javelin flew 23.86 meters.

At the 2017 World Championships, Krūmiņa (previously – Dadzīte) became the champion in shot put, javelin and discus. Two years later, she added another gold medal in the javelin and a bronze in the discus.

On the other hand, at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, the representative of Latvia won a bronze medal in the javelin.

Krumiņa also competed in the discus throw at this world championship and won third place.

About 1,330 para-athletes from more than 100 countries will participate in the championships, with athletes fighting not only for prizes, but also tickets to the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.

The World Para Athletics Championship will take place until July 17 at the home of next year’s Paralympic Games.
