Keye van der Vuurst de Vries (born in Rijswijk, Netherlands, on December 29, 2001) is a Dutch basketball player who currently belongs to the Palencia Basketball squad of the Endesa League. At 1.91 meters tall, he plays the point guard position. He is the brother of fellow basketball player Boyd van der Vuurst.

Trajectory[editar]

Van der Vuurst made his debut in the 2018-19 season with BC Oostende in the Pro Basketball League.

In the following season, he would become a first-team player for the Belgian club, with whom he won three consecutive Pro Basketball League championships with BC Oostende.

On May 27, 2022, he won his fourth straight Belgian championship and was named Finals MVP after averaging 9 points and 7.8 assists in the series against Kangoeroes Mechelen.

On April 26, 2022, he declared for the 2022 NBA draft.

On July 29, 2023, he signs for Palencia Baloncesto of the Endesa League.[1]​

National selection[editar]

In 2018, Van der Vuurst de Vries won the 2018 FIBA ​​Europe Under-18 Championship Division B while playing for the Netherlands National Under-18 Basketball Team. He scored 35 points in the final against Slovenia that would end in an 86–57 victory.

On November 16, 2018, he was called up by coach Toon van Helfteren to be part of the Netherlands National Basketball Team. On 29 November 2018, Van der Vuurst de Vries made his debut for the Netherlands at age 16, becoming the youngest player to play for the Dutch team, surpassing the record set in 1961 by Ger Kok.
