Kemba Walker Joins AS Monaco for Next NBA Season

American playmaker Kemba Walker, 33, free of any contract after 12 seasons in the NBA, has signed up for next season with AS Monaco, the Principality club announced on its social networks on Friday.

Four times selected for the NBA All-Star Game between 2017 and 2020, Walker was revealed to the Charlotte Hornets where he shone until 2019, before spending two seasons at the Boston Celtics, then a season at the New York Knicks.

Last season, he played just nine games with the Dallas Mavericks, who signed him as a free agent in November before cutting him in January.

A solid playmaker (1.83 m, 83 kg) and very experienced, Walker played 750 NBA games during his career. He is the Hornets’ all-time leading scorer with a game-high 60 points.

Walker is the fourth signing of the reigning French champion club and 3rd in the last Euroleague after French internationals Terry Tarpey, Mam Jaiteh and Petr Cornelie.

In the wake of this announcement, the Roca Team has also confirmed the one-season contract extension of Lithuanian pivot Donatas Motiejūnas, 32, who will compete in the World Cup with his selection from August 25 to September 10.
