BVB only had to beat FSV Mainz 05 at home on the final day of last season to end the dominance of Bayern Munich. Dortmund lost their nerve – and the chance of winning the championship.
“We had plenty of time to chat about what last season was like and what’s ahead of us”said Brandt. “We are full of energy to get going again relatively quickly.”
The start of the season for BVB is the home game against 1. FC Köln on August 19, a week before that the team starts in the DFB Cup at regional league club Schott Mainz.
