Izagirre takes stage win as a breakaway

The Spaniard Ion Izagirre won the twelfth stage of the Tour de France with over 3,000 meters of altitude difference as a solo escape on Thursday. At the top of the overall standings, nothing changed before the eagerly awaited triple in the Alps at the weekend. Felix Gall lost one position because of the Frenchman Guillaume Martin, who arrived in front of him in the first group of pursuers, and is now in 17th place. In the mountain classification, the East Tyrolean slipped from second to third place.
