The 2023 Indonesia International Basketball Invitational Tournament will be used by Perbasi as a means of seeking perfection in the previous Indonesia Arena FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

This was revealed by the Chairman of Perbasi Danny Kosasih on Thursday (27/7). Weaknesses in all aspects of the Indonesia Arena will be thoroughly tested in the tournament which will take place on August 2-5.

This tournament will be attended by two Indonesian representatives, namely the Indonesian National Team and Indonesia Patriots, as well as two invited teams from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Syria. This activity is also a test event for the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

“Playing here [Indonesia Arena] we hope to improve the quality of our basketball. We together want to try this field before the FIBA World Cup, so that we will perfect what is not perfect,” said Danny.

“Matches on the 2nd, 4th and 5th. All of our best players will appear. Then there are the young players. Then this is preparation for the Olympic qualification in August. Hopefully we qualify, nothing is impossible,” he said.

Chairman of the National Team Agency (BTN) Perbasi Syailendra Bakrie said the best composition of the Indonesian National Team would be summoned, including potential young players. This event will be used to improve the quality of the team.

“This team [yang akan tampil di Indonesia International Invitational] even in Cambodia [SEA Games 2023] I haven’t got a medal yet, but in Vietnam [SEA Games 2021] we got gold. This is the golden generation. This is our home, the home of the national team,” Syailendra said at a press conference.

Indonesian Basketball National Team player Andakara Prastawa hopes that this tournament will be warmly welcomed by basketball lovers. This means that the fans came in droves to fill the Indonesia Arena, which was being used for the first time.

“Incidentally, Arki and I are injured. We are still in the game. It depends on the coach to play. There are other players who have just finished the competition, so it’s just a matter of recovery. I think this will still be interesting,” said Prastawa.

For the Indonesia Basketball International Invitational tournament, Perbasi released three categories of tickets. The cheapest tickets are priced at IDR 100,000, then IDR 150,000 and then IDR 200,000. Tickets can be ordered online or offline at Indonesia Arena.
