Hard blow for the RWDM: Kylian Hazard will be absent for six months

Looking at the pictures, it didn’t smell good at all. Exited prematurely during the friendly match against Standard on Saturday, Kylian Hazard appeared to have sustained a serious injury.

Unfortunately for RWDM supporters, fears have been confirmed since the Brussels player is suffering from a “rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament as well as a lesion of the lateral meniscus”according to a statement shared by the club on its website.

In this same press release, the RWDM evokes a long period of revalidation and an estimated absence of six months.

A real blow for the Molenbeek club which is preparing to return to the elite and which will have to do without its playmaker during the first months of the season.

A hard blow because Hazard, less dashing in the regular season, had quickly revved up during the play-offs, to blacken the stats sheet (6 goals, 7 assists in 10 matches) and set himself up as the cornerstone of the Brussels attack.

Vincent Euvrard, the RWDM coach, will therefore have to find solutions to compensate for the lack of Kylian Hazardwho will have surgery on Friday.
