So far, the talented defender has made 24 competitive appearances with the Ösi champions, but missed six games at the end of last season due to a thigh injury.

Van der Brempt was not in action last Saturday in RB’s 4-1 friendly win over HSV. The future Hamburg player was probably hidden a bit by Salzburg, was allowed to play against 1. FC Slovacko later that same day and was in the starting XI in the 0-3 defeat against the Czechs.

Claus Costa (39), director of professional football, on van der Brempt: “With his player profile, Ignace fits perfectly into our plans. He has played in top teams in recent years, so he is used to the constant pressure to succeed and perform.” Costa continues: “He also has the physical, technical and tactical requirements for the 2nd Bundesliga and, despite his young age, already has international experience collected at the highest level.”
