Hall of Fame coach Gregg Popovich signed a five-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs, extending a tenure with the team that has spanned nearly three decades.

The contract is worth more than $80 million, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, resetting the coaching market. Monty Williams earlier this summer agreed to a six-year, $78.5 million contract with the Detroit Pistons.

Popovich, 74, is the winningest basketball coach of all time with 1,366 wins along with five championships. He took charge of the Spurs in 1996.

The new contract comes weeks after the Spurs drafted Victor Wembanyama, who has been heralded as one of the best basketball prospects of all time.
