Golf, Challenge tour Four French 12th and three leaders at Vaudreuil

Change of leader(s) after the third round of the Vaudreuil Golf Challenge. Darren Fichardt, Oliver Farr and Jonathan Caldwell now share the lead at -10. The best French are 12th: Grégory Bourdy, Pierre Pineau, Félix Mory and Franck Daux.

The wind intensified again this Saturday in Vaudreuil, and the conditions look just as difficult for the last lap. Hugo Townsend, leader on Friday evening, is the main player to have suffered from the gusts. The Swede notably had a tricky outing with four bogeys between hole n°3 and hole n°7. The 24-year-old then failed to turn the tide and ended the day with six bogeys at +4, now 12th at -5 overall.

The top of the leaderboard is completely turned upside down and the suspense is still total for the final victory. Indeed, they are three players to occupy the first place at -10: Darren Fichardt, Jonathan Caldwell and Oliver Farr. Engaged in the last part, the Welshman could have sat alone in the leader’s chair without his bogey at 18. In the leading trio, Jonathan Caldwell made a good comeback. With five birdies, an eagle at 14 and two bogeys, the Northern Irishman returned a card of 67 (-5), the best score of the day like Tomas Gouveia.

On the French side, Pierre Pineau (+1) and Gréogry Bourdy (+2) lost some ground this Saturday. On the other hand, with four birdies and three bogeys each, Félix Mory and Franck Daux played under par (-1). The four men rank 12th at -5 overall. “I was expecting a lot of wind, it was the case, analyzes Franck Daux. Afterwards, we’ve had the same wind direction since the start of the week, so we know how the course will react. I felt very good, I did a good game, I’m happy. »
