Gerard takes control of the Barracuda Championship, Levy 12th

On the podium at the end of the first round of the Barracuda Championship, Alexander Levy no longer appears in the places of honor in Truckee. Less efficient than Thursday, the French gleaned only two points during this second round (two birdies allowed him to gain four points but two bogeys resulted in a penalty of two units). The five-time winner on the European Tour is now in 12th place (+18 total).

Ryan Gerard takes charge

At the top of the standings, Ryan Gerard sat in the leader’s chair. Started strong with four birdies on the way, the latter made three additional birdies on the return to take first place (+30 total). The American has a four-point lead over his compatriot (+26 total), Patrick Rodgers. The 31-year-old recorded seven birdies and three bogeys in the second round.

The third step of the podium (+23) is occupied by a fit man, Vincent Norrman, winner of the Barbasol Championship last week. Carried in particular by his eagle made at 12 (an eagle brings in five points), the Swede also returned five birdies and conceded three bogeys.

Warrior breaks out of the top 15

Beau Hossler took 4th place alone (+22 total). A duo, formed by Zecheng Dou and Sean Crocker, shared 5th place (+21). Cameron Champ is 7th (+20) while the top 10 is completed by a quartet in 8th position (+19) composed of Marcus Kinhult, James Morrison, James Hahn and Carl Yuan. Present in the top 15 on Thursday evening, Julien Guerrier is now 23rd (+15). The native of Evreux had started well with three birdies but he was then weighed down by a bogey and especially a double bogey in the 18th. His fourth birdie of the day, returned on the return, allows him to finish on a positive note.

Two other Tricolores pass the cut

Among the other French present in Californian lands, Martin Trainer and amateur Bastien Amat take 39th place (+13 total) and pass the cut set at +11. Conversely, Robin Sciot-Siegrist, Matthieu Pavon (+8), Jeong Weon Ko (+7), Adrien Saddier (+3) and Clément Sordet (-6) will not be at the start of the third round.
