French Referee Éric Lissilour to Officiate in Badminton Events at Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Olympic Games – Paris 2024

After Isabelle Jobard in Athens in 2004, the Bretillien from Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande, Éric Lissilour, will be the second Frenchman to officiate as assistant referee, during the badminton events of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The International Federation (BWF) having so far never appointed a native official of the host country for a major championship, this is a first class appointment. And Los Angeles won’t take place until four years later…

While waiting for the (hoped-for) qualifications of Thom Gicquel (mixed) and Xuefei Qi (ladies’ singles), Éric Lissilour will not be, whatever happens, not the only one to represent bad Breton since Haidar Dittoo, also from the Breton club of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande, has been retained as referee.
