EuroCup – Elected in the best five of the Betclic ÉLITE season, former Le Mans leader Matt Morgan will live his third European under the colors of the London Lions, one of the continent’s emerging clubs.

It is surely the first time that the second best player in the French championship has chosen to continue his career in the British league. Yes but now, for a year, the London Lions are not just any club in Europe, erected by the EuroLeague as one of the teams of the future. If the BBL remains a fairly weak championship, the club from the English capital shows itself in EuroCup and it is surely this platform that convinced Matt Morgan (1.88 m, 25 years old) to favor the London proposal, in addition to the opportunity, too rare in Europe, to find himself in a country where he speaks his native language.

Anonymous in the G-League between 2019 and 2021 with the Raptors 905, Matt Morgan launched his European career last year by putting the Turkish second division on fire with Konyaspor. But it was under the colors of Le Mans that he revealed himself for good in European basketball (20.7 points at 47%, 2.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists), All-Star, best back and No. 2 in the election of Betclic ELITE’s MVP of the season. Enough to give him the opportunity to discover a continental competition at the start of the school year, where he will notably meet Paris Basketball

Much appreciated in the Sarthe, Matt Morgan will be entitled to a little pleasure during the first weekend of September: a friendly match against the MSB during the Vannes tournament. The American rear has already made an appointment with his former supporters in Brittany.
