Sonny Kittel continues after his exit Hamburger SV continued his career in Poland. The Polish Master Rakow Tschenstochau announced the signing of the 30-year-old midfielder on Thursday. Kittel, whose parents and grandparents are from Poland, signed a contract valid until 2026.
Rakow Częstochowa is currently playing to qualify for the Champions League group stage. The season in the Polish Ekstraklasa starts next weekend.
Kittel played for Hamburger SV from 2019 until the end of last season. In the past two seasons, he had missed promotion to the Bundesliga with HSV in the relegation. At the end of June, Kittel expressed disappointment via Instagram that he had not received a new offer. Almost two years ago, he had expressed his desire to stay longer, he had written. Last season he tried to leave the club himself. In the summer he wanted to switch to Major League Soccer in the USA for the capital club DC United. In the winter, his departure to Saudi Arabia seemed imminent. A contract supposedly worth millions beckoned there. But HSV and coach Walter vetoed it.
