Foligno Karate Club’s Nicholas Martellini Wins Gold at Porec Youth League

POREC (Croatia) – Nicholas Martellini hit the top step of the Porec Youth League 2023 in Croatia.

The Asd Foligno Karate Club of maestro Enrico Spigarelli rejoices for the splendid podium conquered by the young Foligno karateka Nicholas Martellini at the Youth League of Porec in Croatia. It is one of the 5 stages of the Youth World Cup, a very important and demanding competition which sees athletes from 14 to 21 years of age collide each time on the international tatami.

This year’s edition attracted 3,500 athletes from 75 nations.
The Foligno Karate Club was present with 7 athletes in different categories in the specialty of Kumite combat.
The Foligno Nicholas Martellini in the Junior + 76 kg category, with 85 athletes in the competition, won the gold medal and therefore the top step of the podium, after having played and won six matches with opponents from:

Finland 1-1
Ukraine 1-0
Slovakia 3-0
Croatia 6-1 L
Latvia 3-2
Türkiye 3-3

Maestro Spigarelli declares that he is delighted with this great achievement which has brought Italy to the highest podium, also receiving compliments from the Fijlkam federation.
Now, after the celebrations, a summer full of training awaits for Nicholas and all the agonists of the Foligno Karate Club to face other difficult national and international competitions.
