This time it’s here to stay! Fluminense agreed to hire 27-year-old defender Marlon. Moleque de Xerém was at the Carlos Castilho Training Center this Tuesday (11/07) to sign a loan contract until the end of June 2024 and already start work with the group. The defender will wear shirt number 4.
“Fluminense was not only my priority, but my only choice. This is due to the identification I have with the club that revealed it to me, a matter of consideration and respect for the institution. I believe the way to repay that was to go back to the club that formed me.”
Marlon debuted for Fluminense at the age of 18, in May 2014, and defended the professional team until 2016. With the tricolor armor, the defender has played 71 games and won the Primeira Liga title in 2016. The player, who belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk, from Ukraine, played last season for Monza, from Italy.
“I returned to Fluminense for the love and affection I have for the club. And also for the goals set by the club, which fit with my career and the moment I’m living. I’m feeling good, very excited. I am motivated and very happy,” he said.
Marlon is the 16th signing announced by Tricolor this season, the fifth in this mid-year transfer window. The club also renewed with important players for the team, such as striker Germán Cano, midfielders Paulo Henrique Ganso and Jhon Arias, midfielders André and Martinelli, right-back Samuel Xavier and defenders Manoel and David Braz, in addition to officializing the permanence of coach Fernando Diniz.
